"Perfect Gods" by Robert Longo
Robert Longo uses graphite like clay, molding it to create images like the writhing, dancing figures in his seminal "Men in the Cities" series. By the late 1980s Longo's drawings had grown in scale and over the next two decades their thematic range deepened into a group of distinct series of monstrous ocean waves, mushroom clouds, women's busts, handguns, and menacing sharks.
